Chris Wood embodied the spirit and the soul of Traffic. Chris provided the signature ethereal flute and characterful jazz saxophone that made their music magical and unique.

A great songwriter his credits include classic songs such as Dear Mr Fantasy, Coloured Rain, Who Knows What Tomorrow May Bring?, Heaven Is In Your Mind, Smiling Phases and Shanghai Noodle Factory.

A superb musician, he played on every Traffic album between 1967 and 1974. His playing and performances also grace recordings by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Ginger Baker’s Airforce, John Martyn, Free, Jim Capaldi and Third World to name a few.
